Hey everyone,
I'm getting my tax return soon and I"m looking to replace my 1MP HP PS120 that eats CF cards and kills them. My budget for this is around $250 like I said, so I'm looking for the best all around camera. I'm no professional, but I want good quality pics. I'd just like to know what brands to look for. This Kodak V530 caught my eye, I really like the slim design, as I'll be carrying it places, and it has plenty of features, for only $200. But for nearly the same price I saw this Polaroid i832 that's 8MP and has a huge 2.4" screen. I'm just curious as to what's a good deal and what I should be looking for, any help would be great!

Anything above ~3-4 Mpix in a $250 consumer camera is meaningless.

I suggest:
Canon A610 or A620 if you want to use AA batteries.
Canon SD400 or SD450 if you want a smaller camera.
Canon S1 IS if you want a great zoom (10x optical), but its a bit larger.

dpreview.com has a ton of camera reviews once you narrow down the models you're looking at.

One warning about buying online is that there are a lot of shady sites. They'll put out low prices and then claim its backordered (because, of course, it's not the North America version of the camera) and try to upsell you to the North American version with overpriced accessories. Buy from somewhere reputable like Amazon or Dell (both of which usually have good discounts or coupons).
