Can a G4's internal modem be put into a beige G3/300 and be made to work? If so, what's needed...just a modem script? The G4 is running OS 9.04, the G3 OS 8.6.

Thanks

I don't think so for the following reasons:
1. The design of the internal modem for the Sawtooth G4 was different that the design for the B&W G3
2. The beige G3 doesn't have a slot for an internal modem.

Thanks. I 'd forgotten that somewhere I'd read it wasn't a PCI slot modem but an actual slot. I assume that no one makes an internal modem card for the Mac, which is too bad given they're much cheaper.

I believe the internal modem for G3s hook up onto the personality card?

What is the personality card? Does that mean someone actually does make an internal modem for older, beige models of the G3?

you could move a G4 yikes! modem to a B&W G3, but not to a beige G3. they're entirely different.

check on ebay for the right modem. I see them them all the time and they way cheaper than new ones.
