After, well, forever, HP has finally released the Driver for it's DeskJet 694C. To upgrade my OS to OS9 I needed to find a Temp. fix. I found that fix using PowerPrint 5.0. This fix worked fine for text printing, but the photo printing feature that made the 694C a good printer was not supported in the PP driver. This was also true for the USB adaptor kit that HP released a year ago. I downloaded the new driver and it includes the photo function as well as the banner printing features that was included with the original PC version of the printer.
Some pointers:
You will need to switch back to HP's USB adapter cable if you are using PowerPrint's cable.
Delete any old HP 694C drivers.
Zap the PRAM then install the software.
Rebuild your desktop after install (good idea whenever you install new software).
Don't adjust any of the driver settings while the printer is printing.
I still haven't accessed all of the features of the new driver, but so far so good.
