I have an APC Smart-UPS 1000 with a Web/SNMP card inside its Smart-Slot. I've had the hardest time trying to get this configured. APC Tracker is a software package that just came out that supports this (check VersionTracker) for shutting down systems over the network. The big problem for me is that I can't configure it because I don't have a proper serial connection. I have both a PowerBook with a serial connection that I could use an USB from a G4 if that would help. The "Smart Signaling" cable APC includes with the Web/SNMP card of course only works for PCs and you can't use the PowerChute cable because it's not bi-directional and a standard modem type cable I hear doesn't work because of the pin-outs.

1. Does anyone with a Mac have one of these cards configured? If so, how'd you do it?
2. Does any one know exactly which cable could be used (old serial or USB) to connect?

Thanks.
