hi

if I put a 300gb hard drive that has windows already on it

will I be able to use disk utility to wipe it and format it ready for OSX?

Yup, if this is a second hard drive, just open up the disk utility and reformat it, or if its going to be the primary, the OSX installed will direct you to reformat it

Is the drive going in your B&W? Just make sure your ATA card supports large drives first.
