Using an ibook with an Iomega ZIP CDR and tried to back up a CD using Toasts Disc Copy but it says Toast cannot copy certain types of disks(CD Rom XA's).

I still haven't been able to update my copy of toast deluxe(getting the error as posted on adaptec site) and am wondering if that would fix this problem?

Any ideas as to how to get around this(copy disk another way)or does anyone have advice on how to update Toast...asides from the steps posted on their site which still don't work for me?

Thats normal. You need to use something like Astarte CD Copy to extract the CD's tracks then burn them as if burning a disc image...
I assume you are trying to 'backup' a playstation disc?

Yep, Cyphers' right. Toast (even 4.1) doesn't like multisession ISO9660 CDROM-XA disks (i.e. PSX). You need to get a copy of Astarte CD-Copy. It will extract the sessions of the disk and allow you to save them as a Toast ISO image file. You can then use Toast to burn them to CD-R. Works great.

There are 'copies' of Astarte CD-Copy floating around on the newsgroups. Just goto one of the Mac groups and ask nicely. I don't know of any other way to get it since they were bought out. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Well seeing as its not available any more...
Ehunt, whats your e-mail address?
Send it to mahony@telpacific.com.au
I have a rather long winded way to do it, and I don't think posting a 10-page post here is a good idea...
