What password are you talking about? Are you using Apple Printer Utility-PPC?

Presumably he's talking about the telnet access that Apple's LRP-supporting printers have. You can telnet into it (on the standard port) and get access to a simple configuration menu. It's got all the same features as available via Apple Printer Utility, but a bit different. I'd say to contact the owner, or Apple - surely there's a way to reset the printer's NVRAM or wherever it stores config info.

Yes, the telnet password. Without it you cannot do 2 things. Set the subnet mask and set the gateway.

I just got off the phone with Apple tech support and after 2, yes TWO hours of patient waiting the refused to tell me how to reset the password!
They claim they have no way of knowing that the printer was not stolen. The guy had the instructions right in front of him and he did not give them to me!
The only way for me to get the password reset is to bring it to an authorized apple service center. This is not an acceptable option, I am a colledge student, I bought the 16/600 as a parts machine and fixed it with a parts LW Pro 630 i had. I don't have the money to spare for service!
This is not what I expect from Apple computer. I know there are more of you out there that have this same problem. This printer originaly sold for over $2,000 and is now becoming an afordable(under 500$) high speed printer for the home user.
If any one knows how to reset the password please post this information. If someone out there knows an apple service technitian please contact them and try to find out, please... I would greatly apreciate this. Thank You.

I'm having the same problem... it would be great if I could print via TCP/IP from machines other than my Mac, and when I'm away from home. I can telnet in, but I need the password! How does one reset it?!
