Has anyone using a Mac 6200 or similar had success uploading the Nikon firmware? I am able to use the viewing software but the computer and camera will not recognise each other when I try to upload the firmware "Camera is not connected" appears after the software searches through the various link up speeds - I've searched Nikon sites so thought I'd try a Mac site!
any help much appreciated - I have tried extensions - all off , on and sideways :-)

I've used a Beige G3 to upload the software and it worked fine. I'd double check to make sure that Appletalk is turned off before you attempt it on a 6200. They also have step by step directions on how to do the upload that are pretty complete.

Make sure the camera is on and there is no compact flash card installed. I just upgraded two cameras yesterday with no problems at all.

Did the 1.2 update on a 7300/200 and the 1.3 update on a BW/G3 with no troubles.

thanks for trying folks - Scott and Rene if you see this could you tell me exactly your process - and was it on Performa 6200 or similar - tried it without the CF card - extensions off, Appletalk off , zapped the PRAM even ( just in case) re-read the instructions - which are really quite simple but still the computer message "Camera not connected appears" - I hate to be beaten by such a simple process! One email - fellow 6200 user also admitted defeat on this one.

This will probably piss you off but I did nothing other than connect the camera and run the update! I do remember turning the camera to the (I don't have it here so I don't remember the name) preview(?) mode, ie, not the picture-taking mode when I applied tha update(s).
Maybe it's just an issue with the 6200?
