I've bought an amplified USB headset to use with my Powermac to talk on skype.

I got it to work once and cant seem to get it going again.

In sound preferences I choose USB device for output and input and I can hear the alerts and system sounds but when I make a call on skype I get nothing from the person I'm trying to talk to and that person hears nothing from me. I also could listen to a recorded sound clip (.wav) successfully.

As I said before I did have it working successfully once before but dont know how or why it started working. It just started working after 10 minutes of fiddling so I dunno how it happened.

I noticed that when I had it working I got no response hitting the volume buttons - the volume graphic didnt pop up (OSX 10.4).

Any advice here?

think i sussed the problem in skype prefs.

when I unplug the headset it reverts to default internal speaker settings. So I have to check it when I log in to skype. Chekd under skype prefs>>>audio and choose USB headset for input and output

thanks for the help...hehe later ppl...cheers
