anyone try polishing the bottom stel part of the iPod with a stainless steel polish or something ? ive had this thing for liek 5 days and it's already scratched, eventhough ive been treating it like a new born baby.

Yeah, the scratches do suck … for about a week, then you get used to them. Let us face it, Acrylic and Chrome look cool but, on a purely functional basis, are worse than useless. Having said that, the iPod is still the best looking MP3 player (yes, even with scratches.) I support Apple's materials choice. Just don't expect them to look good after actual use. If it bothers you, buy a really cool case. Then you won't have to look at the scratches!

Oh, and, it's chrome, not stainless steel.
