We have a wired/wireless net of an original iMac (10.3.9), a FP iMac (10.4.3) and two Windows XP notebooks (HP and Dell). The FP iMac has an EPSON CX7800 all-in-1 printer attached. Both iMacs print to the Epson.
I turned on Windows sharing on the FP iMac to enable the Windows machines to reach it as a network printer. This resulted in a print server accessible as \\ipAddress\printer_Name.
I then installed the Epson software on the Dell XP to support the drivers for the Epson.
I did an Add Printer on the Dell and successfully browsed the network to find it.
When I print from the Windows XP Dell, I can watch the local print queue for the Mac's printer. I see the print spool in, see the page count go to 1 (the test is a short email) and see the print queue empty.
Unfortunately, over on the Mac, absolutely NOTHING happens. The CX7800 never ever prints and no print queue ever showed any activity on the Mac side.
THis doesn't look or feel like a Windows problem. Any suggestions? Or is this just half-assed accomodation all over again?
