I just got a second hand Sony Ericsson T610 and find that turning on Bluetooth to use Salling Clicker or BluePhoneElite on my 12" PB drains the phone's battery very fast. Is this normal? Do I need a new battery? I would like to hear other people's experience using BT phones with a Mac.
TIA.

Good question. My T637's battery lasts far less than the advertised time (by far) but I have only ever used it with BT on.

That said, it's always enough to last me a whole day and do an hour or two of talking. I charge every night so it never ends up a problem.

I also use my phone with iSync, Salling Clicker and BPE, they're great. And now that Entourage syncs with iSync, I really can just use Address Book for all my contacts and have the right ones go into my phone.

BT in any form seems to drain the battery... when I use my BT headset, the battery dies faster.

Thanks very much, t and TT!

Another question, linked to your answer, tooki (which I will repost, if you want, since it deserves a different subject heading):

When I use iSync (both the old version 2.1, using a T610 plugin, and the new v 2.2 which came with the OS X 10.4.6 update, requiring no plugin), it mysteriously duplicates and adds a " - " to the end of many of the names on my phone. The problem was worse with v.2.1 but still persists after the update.

I did a "merge" on first using v.2.2, having set up a "T610" group in Address Book, and followed Apple's new iSync instructions to the letter. I then had to manually delete the affected entries on my phone, which was a pain.

The sync also creates duplicate entries in the "All" group in AB. And, strangely, these duplicates have no "-" added.

Any suggestions on how to avoid these problems?

BTW, I have also tried OnSync and there the results are even more unpredictable.

I've noticed that "-" issue on my SE w600i as well.
