Can anyone explan to me what the reasoning is at Apple to still make 1-button mice? When are they going to make the switch? I mean, context menus are already standard in OSX. And if they are trying to convert Windows users it would help. So what gives? Why don't they go UNIX all the way, while at the same time one-upping the PC world by coming out with a 3 button mouse?

I used a PC with 3 buttons for the first 8 years of my computer using history. When I switched to a mac with a one button mouse if took maybe three or four days to get use to the one button mouse but now I absolutely love it. I feel so awkward using a 2+ button mouse my hand feels so unnatural. It's no wonder so many get carpel tunnel from using a mouse too much. You have to keep your wrist at a very weird position to keep from pressing down on the 2nd or 3rd button. On my mac mouse I can rest my entire hand on the mouse without worrying about hitting an additional button since there isn't one.

I believe that if you really need 2 or more buttons than get a different mouse. Apple isn't forcing you to use the mouse they ship. But until I start using Maya quite a bit (which might be fairly soon, unfortunately) I'll be keeping to my one button mouse. After all I only access the contextual menus maybe once or twice a day. What's the purpose of adding an addition button that just makes the mouse more uncomfortable if you're only going to use it a couple times a day?
