I currently have a 17" CRT display. The image quality is excellent. But my dream is to have a flat screen display ;-) Now that Apple has an affordable 17" model, I think I would go for it instead of the 15". The visible area of the 17" is I guess much bigger.

But is LCD good for games? What if a game switch automatically the resolution of the screen, can the new LCD 17" do that too ? Will the picture quality be good, without distortion ?

I am not a "gamer" but I like to play from time to time ... my main use is video editing and internet surfing (on a Cube 500).

And when can one expect the first price drop of the 17" ? July ? September ?
