I have an ATi 7500 in one of my PCI slots. It has a TV output that, right now outputs to a tiny 13" TV. It works pretty cool and movies look really good on it. But, I'm thinking about getting a Wide Screen TV, a 16:9 one (as opposed to a 4:3) and I'm wondering how to I output to the whole thing? If my card it outputting 4:3, then its either goona get stretched out to fit, or its gonna have huge black columns on either side of the screen. Is there I way I can output the full size and shape? Maybe a VGA -> TV adapter I can hook up to the VGA port instead of the TV out put, that will let me set the res to that of a 16:9 HDTV television?

I am not sure if you can change the settings on a ATi 7500, but when I output from my G4 Ti Rev. B to my Philips 34PW9817 34" 16:9 HDTV I am limited by the display presets. While the Ti has a widescreen 1152 X 768 it is not a true 16:9 so I am left with black bars on the sides. What I do is then use my TV settings to stretch the image to fit the screen. This works great with anamorphic widescreen or letterbox dvd's, but you do lose about 1/2" off the top and bottom of your screen. You didn't indicate whether you would be using it for DVD purposes or for monitor spanning, but monitor spanning may be difficult if you don't want the image stretched or cut off. By the way, monitor spanning on an HDTV looks much better than on your regular NTSC set since the resolution is similar to a computer screen.

Good Luck!
