I have an Apple LaserWriter 300 that has served me well through the years. But there are times when it does not work, and I get a message saying "Identifying Printer" with the picture of Clarus, then a message that says either the printer is not connected or not turned on, both of which are not true. I know the printer cable is good because it works on my Epson 740, but there are times when the LaserWriter 300 is just what I need (like when I print 200 letters and envelopes at once, the LW is much clearer than the Epson)

What can I do to fix the problem once and for all?

Thanks!

Try reinstalling the Printer's driver software.

Did you install a newer version of the Mac OS recently? Maybe you forgot to install the new version of driver software.

Good luck,

Walter.
