I have an iMac, and when i tried to print something from Word (or SimpleText), I got an alert that told me I was out of color ink. That's fine, I thought. Well, When I tried to go back and print it in black, it wouldn't work; an alert came up "the printer is not responding. Make sure the printer is online and ready to print". I went to the chooser and selected my epson printer from the left side. But the right side, where I am supposed to select a printer port, there is nothing; it's blank. I already reinstalled the software and nothing helped.
you will need to replace the ink cartridge in order for it to appear in the chooser. for some strange reason, sometimes epson printers disappear when they're out of ink. easily fixed.
It is my understanding,a s well, that your printer won't be available unless you have ink.. are the lights blinking? Here is a link to an awesome place to buy replacement cartridges.... http://www.ink4art.com ...
