I have the same trouble with my Que! drive (one of the early models). It's hooked up to my Beige G3/535 through a Keyspan USB card. I get buffer underrun errors constantly if I try to go above 2x speed. I am also using Toast Titanium 5.0.1 when I burn. I give it an extra generous buffer setting of 64MB but it always happens. It is a pain in the rear to burn a CD for nearly an hour! Hopefully someone else in the forum will be able to shed some light on the subject.

I have hte firewire version of this burner, and I used to get the same problems, until I discovered that the errors are realated to the type of CD-R's that you use. For me at least, I need to use TDK CD-R's. As soon as I switched, my problems when away...

Good luck!

The USB bus is too constrained to provide data to the burner fast enough to burn at higher than 4X.

4X is pushing it as it is, and won't work with formats such as audio CD's... usually.
