I bought it because I wanted a scroll wheel for my iMac. I got it home, installed the driver, plugged it in, and I could only move the pointer up and down. That's it, no diagnal, no side to side. That ain't what I wanted.... So is it just a bad mouse, bad driver, or does this mouse just not work with my iMac?

I have logitech mice for both my G4 and iMac and have had no problems. Do you have the latest drivers? If not you can get them here. http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=2479

sounds like the mouse is defective. Even without drivers it should work as a one button mouse. Exchange it if you can.

I've had this happen before... unplug/replug it a couple of times. USB is a bitch, and its the prob. Though it could be the mouse, I suppose...

I second the suggestion to install USB Overdrive, as a replacement driver. It rocks.

If none of that helps, try a different USB port. Also, try a direct connection to the computer, rather than the keyboard. If it works like that it could be a faulty mouse component, or the KB. Of course, I assume you have the KB in USB port 1 directly into the computer...

Logitech's driver - Mouseware - is just horrible. It freezes my G4 if I move the pointer when shutting down and it affects other programs. I'd recommend trying some other replacement driver, or buying another brand. I've been thinking about the second option myself...

I just got the Logitech three button scrolling optical mouse to use with my G4 733. No problems at all with the driver.
