Is $350 a good price for the T68i Bluetooth Phone?

A guy at the VoiceStream Store here said he can get me the T68i phone for $350 (VoiceStream is the only service that has GPRS). So, is this an amazing price, or am I missing something?

Hey Tony,
Doing a quick search of ebay shows that that is roughly the goign price, between $350 to $400... you might ask him where he is getting it, because currently Voicestream hasn't announced plans to carry the T68i, and if you question the online store or TS, they'll tell you they no longer carry Ericsson phones... I too would like one to replace my current t29, and so I can use it with my current car phone set-up...
good luck, I'd be curious to see if you get it...
I'm sure in time they will come way down, but that will be a while since it is such a new phone.

hrm, well he had a T68 "box" [or whatever the gold one is] in the store and said that he just sold the phone. I actually, got him down to $300 w/ service for the T68i but told him that I just wanted to check that I can get a BlueTooth adapted for my Ti before I decided to switch [he didn't have any of the phone in the store]. FWIW, neiter VoiceStream (nor anyone else) has the coverage that Verizon has in NYC. Unfortunately, Verizon is also the most expensive AND the phones blow (they don't even have an IR phones, let alone BT support). btw, do you know if the 68i comes in any other color than grey&blue. He seemed to indicate that it does, but I don't know if he's just talking smack. Seriously, I was VERY surprised that he said I could get it for $300, as I've seen it online for north of $500. I think the only thing holding me back right now is that I "have" to get VoiceStream.

If it is the T68i that is a great price! Make sure it's the 68i, not the 68m (gold or grey). The 68m is the older one, and people have complained that it is slow (menu selection etc…) I have the T68i (it's the blue and grey one) and I love it, just wish voicestream had a bigger coverage area. Now if Apple would start selling the bluetooh adaptor again. T68i

One benefit of voicestream is that GSM is making huge in-roads in the US (not that this helps your current situation, but it is rapidly expanding), because of Cingular and AT&T making the transition to GSM.
That is cool, and I am now goign to make some inquiries at my local Voicestream store (AGAIN) about the t68i.
good luck!

Until GSM has the coverage of Verizon, it is pointless to have a GSM phone but no signal. For the guy with the T29, check out the T39, it has bluetooth, GPRS, and IR.

That is a good price since it is selling in the UK for £300 which is more than $440.
