I was wondering if they make a converter so that I can hook up usb peripherals to a scsi port on the mac. I know they make them the other way around. I'd be curious if anyone knows of such a beast.

A quick search for "usb scsi" at MacMall reveals five such items, the cheapest of which is the Adaptec device, at $64. Other selections include adapters from 2nd Wave, Microtech (a second version also), and PortGEAR.
As for usb to scsi, I have never seen such a device. which doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but it seems unlikely, considering that SCSI is not a powered port, and so (I think) an adapter for USB or FireWire would need an external power supply.

I'd stay away from it if at all possible - those converter boxes are awful.
They just dont work right.
Especially going from something like SCSI to USB or vice versa...
I agree, get the USB card if you must have USB.
