I am looking to buy an all-in-one Fax, Scanner, Color Copier & Printer for a small family business and I was wondering if anyone out there has any recommendations. I will be using this with a 700 Mhz iBook running OS X most of the time. So far, I am looking at the HP psc 950, d135 and d145. I would appreciate any comments.

Hi!
For quality, price and compability, I would buy —with close eyes— the d135. It's a great machine!!!
(I had an Epson Stylus Scan 2500, wich I could print and scan with, but the compatibility isn't the best).
Regards from Colombia,

Hi
I wanted to buy a similar all-in-one machine and eventualy bought the HP 750 last christmas. My father had an all in one for his PC and it worked really well but as much as I liked the idea, I had to give it back because the software for the mac was so terrible. For one thing the cd that was in the box, had an old version of the software. I later found out from the hp site that I had to ignore the cd and download the software from their site! Once I did that, it was not much better. It was slow and very cumbersome. At times it would crash as well. Other times it would not detect the printer. It's a shame as the software provided for the PC is good and versatile. But I would not recommend to anyone to buy it for a mac. As for the other manufacturers, I can't say. hope that helps .

I think i saw one at comp usa from HP. It was priced at 399.00 and claimed osx compatablity. I saw it attached to a quicksilver machine but I didn't play with it.. I was having too much fun playing spiderman.

I'm using a PSC 950 and while i had to be patient for better software to arrive, it seems to be adequately implemented now and I'm generally pleased with it.

i bought the psc 950. for months and months after it first came out, the inadequate drivers that hp dumped out were like living h*ll.
however, just a few weeks ago hp issued for download over the net new drivers for this and all their all in ones.
these drivers DO work, and they work very very well. no problems with my hp since using these drivers. i would recommend it highly.
having said that, the actual choice comes down to if and how much you do faxing from a stand alone fax.
if you do minimal faxing out, then the psc 950 is fine.
if you do alot of faxing of multiple pages, then do not buy the 950 as each and every sheet to be faxed must be separately hand loaded, and this does take a whole lot of time. better to get the newest hp compact d135 that came out after the 950, which has a multiple sheet feeder.
thnx

That is good to know that they finally updated the drivers. Do you know if they updated both for OS9 and OSX?
