I was so excited about finally getting to go back to Mac after having spent a dour two years using an office-issued Windows laptop, but so far I've actually had {i]more[/i] trouble getting stuff to work with the Mac Cube I bought. Sigh. Anyway, aside from the Brother 9600 problem I detailed in another post, I can get neither my Kodak USB Card Reader (for the DC215) nor my Que Fire 8x/8x/32x drive to work.

Kodak: I installed the Driver that's at the Kodak website (the box said that the Reader came with a CD, but no CD was to be found), but the Kodak Picture Transfer thingie still tells me that my only options for downloading are through my "modem" and "printer" ports. Of which I, of course, have neither. If I try to download, it tells me that no camera is found. However, when I check under the Apple System Profiler, it lists the device and even knows that my 4 Meg card is 2/3rds full. Curiouser and curiouser.

The QPS actually does seem to work ok with Toast, but I have little desire to use Toast now that I've discovered iTunes. I looked for a driver on both the QPS and iTools site, but found nothing. Should I just try to return the drive (I bought it on ebay, so this is easier said than done), or should I just wait for a driver. Or does this (8x/8x/32x) drive generally work okay with iTunes, and mine's just screwed up?

Thanks for all your help. I'm very glad I found this newsgroup, as the last Mac I bought was in 1994, and things seem to have changed a lot since then. Sorry if my questions are dumb, but I'm still disoriented by how shiny and clear everything is.
