I need a good 19" monitor for graphi design and a good postcript color inkjet printer. Looking at the Sony E400 or NEC FE 950+. Epson 890 or HP 1200ce/ps. Any thoughts?

I agree with Chuck_star. I've had the LaCie 19electronBlue (the original) for about two years now and the picture quality is excellent. It's as bright as when I purchased and it's very, very clear. Plus the tube is flat.
I'd go with an Epson 890 over HP. I've had to HP inkjets, and I never did like the quailty, especially after I purchased my first Epson 800. Since then I've bought 740i, 1270 and a 3000, and have only recommended Epson to friends, who have also bought the Epson models.
You like the LaCie monitor and the Epson.

I agree again. I have the LaCie electron19blue. Unfortunately, it has been replaced with the blueII which does not have the two monitor inputs or two upsteam USB ports but it is a bit sharper. It's a cool dark blue color too. If you do want the flexibility of the two inputs, you can still find a Mitsubishi DiamondPro 900U (Identical monitor but in beige).

What is the tube on the LaCie? Is it the Mitsubishi Diamondtron or the Sony Trinitron?
The Mitsubishi 900u is also a great 19" monitor. It's got the dual inputs AND the dual upstream USB ports as well. When you swich video connections you also switch USB connections so you can effectively run two computers with one monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I don't know how much it is going for these days. I know I payed $600 over a year ago, but I also got a $200 rebate to boot.

It's a DiamondTron. The Mitsubishi and the LaCie are identical except for the color. I do exactly what you described above. I have a PC and a Mac plugged into the LaCie with all peripherals USB cross-platform. One button on the front flips between computers. The LaCie with the USB is discontinued but information on the Mitsubishi can be had from their Chicago office at 1-888-632-6487. LaCie still offers the monitor without the dual inputs and USB (electron 19blueII) with a slightly sharper pitch, as I stated above. The Mits goes for about $650 US here in Toronto.
P.S Info on the Mits here http://www.necmitsubishi.com/product....htm&sec=3

I personally think the Sony G series are the BEST 19" monitors around; iiyama also makes GREAT monitors (slightly cheaper than the sony)
