Can someone refresh my memory, what are the volume size limitations of ATA66, ATA100 and ATA133. Im thinking about making an IDE raid in my mac, and i can't decide weather I should use two ATA100 PCI cards (4 drives) or one ATA66 card and my built in bus (3 drives). Either way im waiting a long time until SoftRAID for X comes out.. just trying to come up with a plan.

If memory servers, ATA100 an lower is limited to a single drive size of 137GB. ATA133 goes into the terrabyte range so no problems there. With 160GB drives already out, and bigger ones sure to come, get the 133. The speed if you do master/slave drives on one channel would come in handy too.

I would probably only use three 120 GB drives, so im probably just goona get a single ATA66 card, and use the mobo IDE (hey nothing goes to waste this way, plus its cheaper) and have 3 drives. Of coarse if sonnet was smart, they'd make a tempo raid card with 4 separate buses, so you could have 4 IDE drives as one big super fast IDE RAID. Thats the way the X Serve does it.
