Well folks, this may be our final answer to this long running conflict between Epson printer driver software and Apples Remote Access. This is the well known problem where the computer would freeze when attempting to dial up via Remote Access anytime after something had been printed.
Today I got an Email from Epson informing me that they have posted a (3.7Mb) patch on the website to resolve this issue. I'm downloading it at the moment, but it's coming through very s-l-o-w-l-e-y! I will post again later and let you all know how it works.. If anyone else has already tried this patch.. Please post your findings..

Fingers crossed!

I've given it a quick try, and it seems to work! Great! Epson took their damn time though!

As a UK Mac/Epson user, I downloaded the patch from the UK based website. I'm sure the patch must exsist on the US website too, but naturally, i've had no need to go there. Anyway, here is the link I used
www.epson.co.uk/support/download/inkjet.htm

It's on that page, right at the bottom. I'm not sure if there would be seperate UK and US versions? But I can't see why they would be any different.. Give it a go!

Thanks for the link. There is NOTHING on the US Epson web site regarding the new drivers as of yet. How lame is that??

There are several links on MacNN's main page today to different updaters for Epson printers - I won't post them here as I don't know which applies to you.

Has anyone downloaded this driver from the UK site and tested it yet besides PaulUK? Curious if there are differences between a UK and a USA versions or even if such versions exist.

Remember, It's a patch, not a new set of drivers as such. Anyway, Just for the hell of it, I had a good look around on the US Epson website... And sure enough, I can't find the patch anywhere! Strange as usually the US web site gets the more up to date drivers n stuff first.

Very lame! I'm just glad that it seems to work at last! But this is without doubt, the last Epson printer I buy.
