Hi all,

with plenty of Graphics Cards out there at ebay, I'm somewhat confused on what GPU to get for a G4 Quicksilver (4x AGP; upgraded with 1 Gig Sonnet Processor Upgrade, 133 IDE Controller, new 300 Gig Maxtor HD, 1,5 Gig RAM already), ready to move to OS X 10.4.x

What are the benefits of replacing the originally built in GeForce2 MX?
I'm not a gamer, but spend quite some time web browsing and am also interested in apps such as Photoshop, XPress, InDesign, Freehand. Thus two (LCD) monitors would be most useful. Is it better to add an additional PCI card (I could get a Radeon 7000 64MB cheap), or to run both monitors on one ("dual head") AGP card?

An ATI Radeon 9800 sure would be nice, but outside my price range. And wouldn't it be "overkill" eventually for a G4? I wouldn't really like to use a soldering iron (on an 9600) or try my luck with a flashed PC card. Which leaves AGP cards such as the ATI Radeon 7500, 8500, 9000, 9700 and then some GeForce modells. All probably sold in various OEM/Retail/Pro/Special Edition versions, with different size RAM, connectors (DVI, ADC, VGA, TV ...), w/ and w/out a fan, some (not) supporting Core, Quartz and whatever ...

BTW: Does more RAM on the card really make a difference (in my particular case) ? And is there a chance to migrate the card to a G5 (G6???) later eventually?

Looking forward to your suggestions
