First question, how good is isight? Will there be a newer one soon (i remmber they say the imac and macbook built in ones are better than the 130$ accessory one. will they have one that will match or exceed the specs of the built in ones soon?)

Second questoin is what IMs work w/ isight? Obviously ichat does, but what about yahoo or msn? Thanks.

The built-in iSights have a resolution of 384x288, while the external one has a resolution of 320x240. However the external has an autofocusing lens, while the built-in ones have a fixed focus lens.

Programs which will work with iSight that I have used are:

iVisit works with PCs and Macs for audio and webcam.
Yahoo works for inviting someone to view your webcam, but using it with voice is not available for Mac.
