I will be purchasing a CCD camera to attach to a microscope to take photos. The camera has 470 lines of resolution and the output is S video and NTSC. Will I be able to input this signal into an iBook with firewire and USB ports or will I need an adaptor. Also what are some good software for editing still photos. Thanks

i use Belkin's USB VideoBus. It cost about $90 and does the job. It has an S-Video input as well as a regular RCA video jack input. This is all you need to connect your camera and transfer images to your iBook.

As far as image editors, i use Photoshop. There's nothing better than that. But you could probably use something as simple as AppleWorks 6 also (if you have it already).
