The new G4 has an Ultra-SCSI card. The old HP printer has 3 connectors: Appletalk, Serial (25pin) and Parallel(25pin). Can I use the printer with the new G4? If so, I assume that they make an appropriate cable?

New printers are cheap, but if I can use the old LaserJet I would prefer to save the bucks.

Thanks!

Check out this topic for one solution... http://forums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/Forum4/HTML/002054.html

I am using the Asante ethernet-localtalk bridge. After some initial problems were ironed out, it now works great.

One note about the Asante bridge vs. USB --> Appletalk adapters... The Asante bridge requires no software, and the printer will be available to all computers on your network. USB adapters require software drivers, and may not work with all printers.
