If your using your Mac's built in SCSI port in may not work. But on my G4 I had an Adaptec SCSI card with a LaCie 8x CD-R and I didnt have any problems.

Im using that Adeptec card that came with my dual 500 from Apple. What softare did you use to get your burner up and running?
