I had my Viewsonic monitor die inexplicably, and had to pay to ship it for repairs (luckily it was still under warranty, so I didn't have to pay for the repairs themself). Good thing I had a smaller KDS monitor that I had recently purchased, because it took Viewsonic one and a half months to get me a new monitor. After calling them several times, they finally told me they would just send me a better model, since they couldn't locate an equivalent replacement. I just called to see if it had shipped, and it had, but not the monitor they promised.

I took a look into KDS (www.kdsusa.com) because it had been working excellently, sharper and clearer than my Viewsonic, with good color at a much lower cost. I found out that, if it was my KDS monitor that failed, they would have sent me a replacement first, and then I would use the box to send back the malfunctioning one. Talk about ease and speed. I wouldn't of had to pay for the new box to ship it in, and I would have had my monitor in 5 days, not one and a half months.

A sharp colorful monitor with better price and service... I'm going with KDS for my next monitor. Viewsonic, nevermore.

I was enamored by the Viewsonic monitors for their sharpness and brightness. But at work and the single viewsonic monitor I have at home are now experiencing 'burn' that I have not seen in color computer monitors since the days of Asteroids in the arcade.

Make SURE you are using a screensaver with your Viewsonic monitors. Several have burn in which is noticable in bright white areas and when the screen is turned off.

I've seen several Viewsonic monitors die inexplicably in the past couple of years. 5 or 6 out of the 18 or so that I've worked with. I'll never buy one for myself.
