I have a question about the rquirements for the iMic that Macally has posted on their web page. It says that it requires OS 9.0.4, Sound Control panel v8.5.1, and Apple Audio Extension v1.0.6 or Apple Audio Extension v1.0.9. I have OS 9, but not those versions of the Control Panel or Extension. The Apple Software Updates say that the newest version of the Audio Extension is 1.0.5, which is what I have. So where can I get these newer versions?

You can copy them of a newer mac (slightly different 9.0.4) or you can
wait for Mac Os 9.1 to arrive. If you post your email address i will send them to you. Good luck marc

I really want to know if this copying of sound extensions and the latest control panel has worked for anyone yet.

In the store where I first tried my new ivoice out, we used a brand new ibook DV SE, and it was flawless (no gain problem and showed up in the sound control panel with more identification than just "USB Audio"). The store assistant and I both noticed the box recommended OS 9.1. We thought it was a typo...

But what Macally says on their website (9.04 + the newest audio extensions) does in fact mean that most people will need OS 9.1.

It crashed my rev a tangerine ibook after a few minutes and the mic was far too sensitive while it worked.

And I, for one, can't wait until mid-January. So... I'm having the store email me the sound extensions from the ibook I tried it on in the first place... and it might be a while before they get back to me.

I hope others are having better luck, because it seems like a great product (mic, stereo input and output!).

Well, I got the iVoice today, and the extensions I copied from a newer machine enable it to work now. (I have a rev. A iBook.)

Now I have a new question about the iVoice (which I might end up using to start a new topic): When I plug a microphone into the iVoice's input, the unit's built-in microphone is not disabled. Is this normal?
