OK, I can't seem to get itunes to work with my USB CDRW. I've read through the archives and found quite a bit of conflicting information. The apple website lists my drive as being a supported drive and I've gone through and changed all of my extensions (i.e. turned off all of the toast software). First, do I have to install 9.1? Second, is there another way of getting itunes to work under 9.04 that I'm not seeing on the boards?

A similar post was already made, the difference being that the responses were all positive (i.e. it works fine). Unfortunately that's not the case with mine. Each time I boot up, my computer attempts to locate drivers, which it cannot. So, if the mechanism and manufacturer are listed on Apple's TIL site, why oh why won't itunes work for moi?

Any Help would be appreciated.

One of my Macs is a Snow iMac with one of the 4x4x8 USB Que burners. It works fine with iTunes. I've heard that Que shipped three different kinds of drives in those enclosures -- check the system profiler and see what drive you actually have. Maybe that'll give you something to ask questions about at least. ;-]

according to the iTunes 1.1 readme, 9.0.4 is required, 9.1 is "recommended."
it also says that USB (or FW) cards are not supported; your burner must be connected to a built-in port.
does iTunes see your drive when you go Edit>>Preferences>>Adv anced ?
Or does it say "no supported drives found" (or whatever it says. don't remember exactly)

It says that "no device found" or some such thing.

So, would it be easiest to just download 9.1?

Thanks for the info

I just recently got hsi burner too. I'm under 9.1..... and the shtuuuupid burner won't work! I'm very aggrivated right now, i just want to take a hammer and smash this little cdrw drive to pieces... But anyway, it isn't working for me under 9.1, by the way, can i record a cd that is 16x with my Que 4*4*8?

I put a V-TECH sticker on my iMac DV 400 and i'm burnin' Geo Metro's left and right.
