Looking for recommendations the fastest USB scanner. We are trying to scan 7 X 4 cards into a Filemaker Pro database. It does not to have real high resolutions, as we only scan in at 72 dpi. Any advice?
Thanks.

Just from experience, Epson make some of the fastest USB scanners. My Epson Perfection 610 USB is quite a bit faster then the 2 Umax SCSI scanners I have owned. Very good scanner, in this price range,

I had the Apple Color One Scanner the last model, I believe was a 1200/30 (my first)that was fast, and it was SCSI.

However my second scanner an Epson 636U was faster, but I have to admit the 1200U scanner was FAST.

I can only guess that the new Epson scanners (1640U) is faster.

I own an epson stylus scan 2xxxsomething (flatbed scanner/printer combo.) The scanner is very fast (5 secs to preview entire flatbed.) It would probably do 7x4 in about 4 secs at 72dpi.
