Hello,

Is there a (THE) solution to burn audio CD from Hard disk ?
My system hangs in the middle of the writing process (Que Fire 8.4.32)
I have an iMac DV SE with MacOS 9.0.4.
The version 4.1.2. from De Luxe Toast is installed.

Thank you for your help !

I have exactly the same set up as you. Same drive, same OS on the same kind of iMac, same version of toast blah blah.. Yet I have no such problem. I can only think that you may have an extention conflict. Have you tried junking prefs etc?

I second that. Check your extensions and make sure you have the latest firewire software from Apple.

I've been using a Yamaha CD-RW for about 4 years, but just bought a new iBook, which doesn't support SCSI. I have read many posts on QUE drives and it seems most people are happy with them. The people who are having problems, seem to be having them with software.

As mentioned in other posts, the drive are made by a few companies and used by a bunch of others.

I ordered a 8-4-32 QPS firewire today. I thought $239 was a pretty good deal.

I'll let you know what happens.

Thank you dklaproth and iPaul UK !!!

I think I've fixed the problem...
I gave more memory to the toast application and it seems to work properly.
Thanks again.

Philippe.

As well as giving more memory to the app, make Toasts RAM cache larger in the preferences.
This can help dramatically.
How much RAM do you have?

I just got my wife's new Que!Fire 8x4x32 hooked up to her iBook and it works great with Toast, but I get a lot of errors with Jam 2.6. Jam just won't work. It reads the drive, but when I start to record, I get error message and the disk ejects. I haven't got a clue why Toast works and Jam doesn't.I guess we'll just use Toast Deluxe.

Just an update to my previous post.
