1. Run out to Staples and pick up a pack of WriteRIGHT transparent screen protectors.

2. Get an ordinary Soda Can

3. Use the top of the can as a cutting guide to make the "circle opening" for the buttons/scroll wheel with an x-acto knife (it's an exact fit!)

4. Place the Transparent Sheet on the iPod

5. Done

Note: I used the WriteRIGHT sheets for my Palm VX but they make custom sized products for all types of PDAs -- My Palm VX coverings don't cover the last inch of the bottom of the unit, so i used two - but i think that the Cassiopia sheets might be the largest sized sheets.

I may do more research at my local Staples....

Either way -- this will keep the iPod top enamel protected and functional -- cause all those available cases are Damn Naystee.

Hopefully Fellowes, the makers of WriteRIIGHT sheets will make one for the iPod soon.

...to confirm, the iPaq Tranparent sheets seem to be the best fit in width and height. Although still a little short, using two of the sheet completely protects the front of the iPod.

Great idea! I'm not a big fan of pouches and cases, so I followed your tip and got some screen protectors. I was only really interested in protecting the iPod display, so I just cut one sheet in half cross-wise and put it over the iPod's screen. No more scratch worries.

Thanks!
