Go with the Epson. I have a 740 and it prints incredibly well.

I third that! I have an Epson Photo 870 and it's outstanding. On DealNN they have a Photo 820 listed for around $84 after rebate. That's the one I'd get.

Epson. I would try to get one of the older 1270 and 870 series. All the RIPs support them, not to mention the continuous ink supply you can hook up to one of those. I have a 780, it is just a few bucks more expenisve than to buy the inks alone.

I dabble in nature photgraphy as a hobby, and I have an Epson 870, which does phenomenal photo prints. It's been replaced by the Epson 820, which is basically a higher dpi printer. That's not that important for consumer use, because you can't see the differences at the higher resolutions, but it is the best photo printer on the market under a couple of hundred bucks - period.
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?
