Hi,

I have a 233Mhz original iMac (6mb VRAM) - which EyeTV model should I go for? Will it run ok on a machine this old?

Thanks,
Matt

I think the original EyeTV USB is the only one that will work for you. All their other models require a Mac with USB 2 or Firewire.

Don't.

Seriously.

The only ones that could *conceivably* work with a 233MHz G3 are the ones that do the video encoding in external hardware, and those are all hooked up via Firewire - which your machine doesn't have.

The others all both require a) that the CPU do the video encoding, meaning a realistic low-end is around a 1GHz G4 (we've found 900 MHz iBook G4s to be iffy), and b) USB2, since USB1.1, which is what your Mac has, cannot nearly accomodate the bandwidth necessary for a video stream.
