This was the first unit included with Macs as an option for burning DVD-RAM as far as i know.
I would like to know which exactly media can i use with this. DVD-RAM in cartridge, DVD-R, DVD-RW??? what sizes? 4.7Gig, 2.6Gig. ???
It came with a used G4 i bough and know nothing about its burning capabilities.
Thanks.

DVD-RAM cartridges, both sizes. It can't burn other types of DVDs.

wrong. the LF-D110 was the first DVD-RAM that was available in the towers; therefore, it can only use 2.6 and 5.2 gb DVD-RAM disks. i don't think the DVD-RAM 2.0 standard (4.7/9.4gb) was out yet at the time of these drives. i believe the first 2.0 IDE model available in the towers was the panasonic LF-D211.

the LF-D110 can use DVD-RAM 2.6/5.2 gb media, both type I (non-removable cartridge) and type II (removable cartridge).

a burned DVD-RAM (type II removable) disk can be read by most DVD-ROM drives. note that the panasonic DVR-A03/103 (aka superdrive) can't read DVD-RAM disks.

Great info, thanks.
How about the DVD-RW disks?
I have a home DVD player so it will be great if DVD-RAM can be played in this.

nope, DVD-RAM can only write to DVD-RAM disks. although the latest in the model line of DVD-RAM drives from panasonic, LF-D311, allows both DVD-RAM writing and DVD-RW writing...but i don't know how well it is supported in X or 9
