I have a USB 2.0 hub that has two external HD, mouse, and powermate plugged into it. The problem is when i restart my computer and i leave this plugged in none of the devices register. i have to unplug the hub restart and plug it in after everything has loaded.

The hub has a spot for AC input but i dont have the adapater to plug into the wall. if i was to go buy an adapter would this stop the problem. i was thinking that maybe there was some sort of powersurge on restart that messed things up. I was wondering what everyone thought before i went to buy something. Thanks for the help

I think this is just how USB works. The hub sees the devices as being there all the time so it doesn't tell them to remind the computer they're there. All the computer sees is the hub, so it doesn't ask past that. It could easily just be that particular brand and model of hub, too.

Have you tried going through the restart bit with JUST one or another of these devices plugged into the hub? And maybe just one or another device plugged straight into the computer?
