Hey All,

I'm at wits end dealing with Apple, so I figured maybe someone could give me some guidance with this problem. I have a G4 Cube with a 17" CRT w/ ADC monitor. Recently, the stand broke so the thing no longer stands without being balanced on books. Of course, this happened just a couple weeks after the warranty expired.

I called Apple, who flat out refuses to sell me the part to replace it myself, even though its installation is easier than replacing a hard drive, and Apple considers that "user installable". In order for me to get it fixed, I have to pay Apple $400 to repair it - roughly the price of a new (and probably better) monitor.

Has anyone ever been able to coerce Apple to get a part? I tried a couple of my local repair places, but they all said they'd have to send it to Apple. Does anyone have a phone or fax number for Apple where I can at least express my dissatisfaction? (It probably wouldn't help, but it'd at least make me feel better). I'm open to any types of suggestions at this point - I'm fresh out of ideas.

I never thought Apple would become such a cheapskate company. It's really too bad that I have to hate a company who makes products I love.

Rick
