arrgh .... i managed to snag an IBM T85D LCD monitor at work. but it doesn't want to co-operate with me.

it's got a DVI connector, and i've got a G4 with a rage 128 that has a DVI port. everything fits together, no adapters or anything. i'm using os 9.04 with the newest ati rage/radeon drivers that they have posted on their site.

the problem is that i can't get the LCD out of power save mode. i have tried to boot with it both with and without a second video card & monitor. i'm a bit frantic because i want to make this thing work before i have to give it to a windows person!

do i need some special software or something? haalp!

dunno if this would work for you, but you may want to zap your PRAM. This happened to me when I went from my monitor to someone elses... I guess the frequency/refresh were different enough, so that it just did not work... I zapped the PRAM and all was better...

good luck

good suggestion, but it was one of the first thins i tried. also tried messing with setting the video card to the lcd's default rez and rebooting.

i wound up just having them order an adapter.

I don't know about *all* flatpanels, but I know my SGI flatpanels need to be at 60Hz as well...
