I am using a Macintosh USB keyboard with a PC (and a Mac). How do I access the BIOS in the PC on startup? Normally you hold down the delete key on a PC, but our delete key is backspace to a PC. There is no other delete key. Any suggestions? (Besides the obvious trashing of the PC).

Time for my most unethical post yet.

Go out and get a pc keyboard, USB or PS/2 or whatever ports are available on the back of the box. Once you have done what you need to do with the Bios and you are satisfied with the outcome, take the keyboard back to the vendor.

Of course, save your packaging, be very careful in unpacking it and pack it up nicely when you take it back.

That is my best solution for you. Anyway, PC keyboards are cheap, and cheaply made.

Thanks. I did just that, got a keyboard for 9 bucks. But in my infinite wisdom I didn't return it since it was only 9 bucks. Good thing. I've used it twice since my first post. The PC is incredibly fast but just to satisfy everyone here in the forum, it freezes AT LEAST 10 times per day. Using Windows ME and I have no idea how to fix it. I just keep hitting the reset button. Thank God I have my Mac that I'm here on to keep me sane!!!

Glad that you got a Keyboard.

If you can find a copy of 98SE, that would probably be best. I get the impression that this isn't exactly the newest PC, or am I just wrong?

I'm sure that there are plenty of copies of it running around on eBay. Oh, and don't forget to check out a local small potato computer store, they may still have a few copies laying around.

Actually it's brand new. A 1GHz Athlon running Windows ME. I have it and my G3 plugged into a dual USB Hub LaCie Electon19blue monitor. All I have to do is push one button on the front of the monitor and my Mac keyboard and mouse and all my dual platform USB peripherals switch from the Mac to the PC. It works perfectly except for the PC constantly crashing. I have to download driver update after driver update. Boy, am I learning to be a PC techie in a hurry. What a drag. I sure its the Windows ME thats causing me the problem, but I don't want to get off topic; this is macnn after all

Get Windows 2000 client (or server.) It is based off of NT so it shouldnt crash (as much as WinME.)

Or, get Debian!
