The Mighty Mouse just seems better than the Wireless Mouse due to the fact it's got the scroll ball and the two buttons. Problem is, for many of us, we like wireless mice.
That's what I'm trying to do. I'm going to buy another Wireless Mouse (so I don't break my current working one) and a Mighty Mouse and I'm going to do a solder job on it and try to see if and how I can make a Mighty Mouse into a Wireless Mighty Mouse.
I expect this project to take about a week or two. If I can successfully do this, I will definitely post a tutorial. The reason for the wait is I will need to get a Wireless Mouse and a Mighty Mouse. Since I don't believe Apple sells just the Wireless Mouse I will need to get it from a third party, so I'll need it shipped.

By the way, I'm going to try to use the Bluetooth module from the Wireless Mouse, as well as some other parts from the Wireless Mouse that I might need.
If you have some info about the insides of the Mighty Mouse, perhaps chip info or something, please post here!

I think the chances of this working are about nil. Between the fact that it's impossible to open an Apple mouse without breaking it, and the fact that the Wireless Mouse's logic doesn't know anything about two buttons, never mind a scroll wheel and touch-sensors, it's just not gonna work. Don't waste your time and money just to create more trash.

The Bluetooth module SHOULD not be specific to the Wireless Mouse. That's just about all I need. As well as another chip, maybe, but I doubt it would matter.

I'd also need to find out the power portion of the Mighty Mouse, and then use the battery compartment of the Wireless Mouse and put it on the Mighty Mouse with some sort of link (Cord I guess) to the power wires or whatever.

For once I agree with tooki and don't think he's being a jerk just because he can. Don't waste your time.

I have a feeling that if the mighty mouse became wireless, the lag from the scroll ball would be unbearable. Especially since it's keeping track of motion in all directions, not just up and down.

Why not just get a third-party wireless mouse? It's not like the Mighty Mouse is that fantastic.
