A while back I saw a posting that would answer this but can't find it - so HELP!. I have an Epson 850Ne and need to change the cartridge. It stopped printing but the computer says it has ink. Because of this I can't get the carriage to come out to let me change the cartridge. (It does a head cleaning instead) How can I get the carriage to allow me to change the cartridge?

Well, on the Epson 740 model you press the load/eject button for about 3 seconds until the print head moves left. Maybe it is similar for your model!? Look in your manual...it might say something about replacing an outdated ink cartridge!

Duh! I found the info just a shor time ago (in the manual, where I should have looked to begin with) You have to hold down both buttons, for black and color. It was under "Replacing an outdated cartridge." Thanks for your response!
