Hi,

I'm hankering after a new display for my G5 - primarily cos Eclipse feels pretty cramped on my 17" LCD.

So, the question is: Should I take the plunge now or wait for new models? The current line-up has been around a while (upside - issues iron-out, downside - no HDMI). Can we expect new models before the Intel towers?

It's all speculation I know but I'd be interested in your thoughts.

I think they would come at the exact same time as the intel towers which could be as early as July/August.

I am in the same boat as you wanting a 30" lcd but I got a feeling the new ones will have a built in iSight.

as much as i LOVE my 23" cinema, i simply couldnt afford to buy another one.

so i bought a dell 24" and i have to admit it has been a good monitor so far, i have no regrets on my purchase.

sure you could wait for what could be around the corner, but just as with my market in the photography world, you can always wait for something newer and better, but in the end was it really worth it? usually, no. but sometimes yes.


i could wait for that intel tower, but i needed the power that i G5 system offers right now. and for what i payed all-together, i have no regrets in buying my system right now. it will last me a long long time
