I figure that the Archos Jukebox 6000 is the closest competition to the iPod, so i compiled a comparison list between the two devices.

+ means good for iPod.
• means same.
- means bad for iPod.

+ 1.85 x lighter

+ 2.5 x smaller

+ nice column view-like interface

+ 1.25 x battery life

+ firewire vs usb

+ 16 x longer skip protection

+ much faster charging

+ more informative screen and interface

+ supports more formats

+ supports multiple languages

+ sychs with itunes

+ charges while syching with computer

• acts as a hard drive

• backlit lcd

- difficult or impossible to use with pc's

- 1/6 less storage size

- $399 vs $249.99

Will I still get one? It is a tough call but probably yes in a few months.
