I work for a State University and have a faculty member who owns a HP Deskjet 340CM and would like to be able to use it with her G4 Titanium.

She bought a Keyspan Serial/USB adapter, and it isn't working...the printer cannot be detected.

I suspect that because the original adapter is Parallel/Serial that with the new USB/Serial adpater we have to many types of communication going on and so the printer is having problems, the computer also crashes at times.

What would the best solution be for this faculty member to do so she can use it. Will the Keyspan serial/USB even work in this case, or would we have to purchase a parallel/parallel cable and then a parallel to USB adapter?
