Hey... Just hearing all the suggestions and "gimme gimmes" for iPod Rev B for $199 just hours after its announcment just proves that the Mac community is going to hype up any hint of a product announcment, and keep their friggen wallets shut when they realize the product isn't what they thought it would be...

This is so last July...

Reminds me of Star Wars fans... "YEA! Episode 1!!!....AGH!! JAR JAR SUCKS!"

Gimme a break mac fans...

One thing I'd think you'd all know by now is that if you're going to want Apple's products, you're going to pay the premium... It's the trade-off of using the better, more stylish, and frankly cooler side of the computing world. deal with it!

it's going to flop, like the newton and the pippen because of price and we don't need something like that now a days, especially at 400. Also, mp3's are harder to comeby with the RIAA being ****heads, and also the fact that it isn't cross platform is the stupidest thing I could imagine doing with such a device. I know several people who would buy one if it were cross platform. Completely horrid marketing and development. It's not going to flop because we aren't zealous and stupid enough to buy it, it's going to flop because it's overpriced, out of its time, and Mac only (cutting out 95% of it's market).

All these cries of "IT'S GOING TO FLOP"... has anyone considered that Apple's learned from the Cube fiasco and wont mass produce the damn thing until they know the mood of the economy?

if thats the case, isn't this a worthwhile risk to take in the perhipheral market?

It is a worthy risk, IF they didn't produce more than 500.
